Sleep Problems?
The Problem
Susan felt exhausted all the time but could not fall asleep for hours. She restlessly tossed and turned each night as she tried to sleep only to wake up every couple of hours. She tried sleep medication only to end up dependent on it. Now she could not sleep unless she took medication and more often even that did not work. She was either unbelievably fatigued or irritated most of the time. Susan felt helpless about not being able to sleep and all the doctors and books couldn’t seem to help her sleep normally. She was left with the choice of either to use sleep drugs or not sleep at all and neither of those choices consistently brought natural sleep. Susan was desperate for relief.
Susan’s case is just one example of the growing epidemic of sleep disturbances. In a study of over 1,400 people, Consumer Reports found that 44% of the population had problems with going to sleep or staying asleep at least eight nights per month. About 70 million Americans are affected by sleep problems that totals to an annual health care expense of 16 billion dollars. In the study 57% of the respondents said ailments like arthritis, back pain or neck pain interrupted their sleep.
- About one in five people took prescription or over-the-counter medications to sleep.
- Drug side-effects like daytime drowsiness were reported by sixty-three percent of people taking medication.
- Twenty-four percent became dependent on the sleep medications and twenty-one percent said repeated use of the drug reduced its effectiveness.
- Another study found that seven percent of medication users reported dangerous behavior like sleepwalking, sleep driving or sleep eating.
What are your choices?
Most people who have sleep problems and use drugs for a remedy see their choices as to either take drugs or not sleep. There are, of course, life style changes such as eating behavior, exercise and the resolution of evening stressors that can make a big difference for many people. However, there is a large portion of the population who have lost their trust in their own ability to go to sleep without drugs.

A Breakthrough in Sleep Treatment
The part of the brain referred to as the “biological clock” (suprachiasmatic nucleus) is the chief controller of our sleep-waking (circadian) cycles. The biological clock is largely influenced by our relationship with light. Light exposure during the day causes melatonin to be suppressed during the day and secreted at night. The secretion of melatonin is associated with sleeping. Various stressors and forgotten traumas in one’s history may be lodged within certain brainwave states that a person enters during sleep. Therefore, when sleep is attempted one’s natural defenses tend to either prevent going to sleep or staying asleep. Unresolved emotions contribute to the normal functions of the biological clock. Therefore, through the use of specific types of light stimulation that duplicate the exact state of mind in which going to sleep or waking up during sleep occurs, we can then use techniques to remove these blockages to sleep.
This process can take place during a single session or more likely during two to three sessions. Of course this works best if the major stressors during waking hours are reduced. The change from life long sleep disorders can be done quickly and without any drugs. This change is usually long-term unless unusual circumstances like jet lag, drug or medications use or traumatic events occur that would temporarily interfere with anyone’s sleep patterns. This breakthrough in sleep disorder treatment offers a more rapid, long-term resolution for most people than has been previously known. This process takes longer if it is necessary to detoxify a person from their sleep medications because the withdrawal process creates a different therapeutic challenge. When your sleep-waking rhythms are corrected, a number of other biological processes improve such as hormonal regulation.
Sleep problems are often related to physical pain. We now have a new process to rapidly reduce and eliminate arthritic pain, neck tension and other discomforts that interfere with sleep without the use of drugs. When physical pain is the cause of sleep disturbance, relief of pain often results in the relief of sleep disturbance.
All that is necessary is for one to call or email us to make an appointment for an initial evaluation to custom tailor a treatment plan for you to achieve success. Then our rapid treatment can be used to bring you to a restful sleep.
