Types of Counseling
Individual Counseling
Our primary counseling population involves individual adults. This may or may not involve other family members or close friends depending upon your needs. Individual counseling is a one on one format that may involve a variety of strategies designed to reach your goals. We try to develop a healthy counseling relationship that is adjustable to your personality.

Counseling with adolescents is primarily individual but may involve other family members or group therapy according to each person’s needs. Adolescents may need processes different from either children or adults. We do expect that the adolescent must desire to be in counseling or the process will take longer.
Couple Counseling
Relationship counseling is often done with both parties present. However, from time to time individual sessions will be necessary. This type of counseling has experienced a substantial degree of improvement by using new methods within the last few years. This is a specialty in counseling that not all counselors are prepared to treat. We have counselors trained in this specialty.
Family Counseling
Family counseling tends to involve some or all family members at the same time. It is particularly valuable for dealing with children, parenting and step family issues. The death or serious illness of one family member tends to affect the entire family for example. Dysfunctional families are at the root of many individual problems and can often best be resolved with the parents and children present.
